Convocation Explores Career Opportunities in Education


(PHOENIX, Ariz., Feb. 23, 2004) – Phoenix College Liberal Arts will hold a Teacher Education Convocation entitled Career Opportunities in Education on Tuesday, Mar. 9. The afternoon program gets underway at noon and the evening program begins at 5:30 p.m. Both programs will take place in the Willo Room on the Osborn Campus.

Career Opportunities in Education is designed to help future teachers in their own educational endeavors. The convocation includes an array of expert panels and presentations ranging from "Education Program at PC and Beyond" to presentations by Arizona State University, Northern Arizona University, University of Arizona, Ottawa, Grand Canyon and Charter Oak State College. The keynote speaker of the program is Dr. Eugene Garcia, dean of Arizona State University’s College of Education. Phoenix College faculty, staff, and alumni will share their experience and expertise regarding pursuing a degree in education and a career in teaching.

Dr. Albert Celoza, chair of Liberal Arts said, "It is gratifying to note that many of our young people are deciding to be teachers. This Convocation will help them achieve their goals and set their eyes on career opportunities in the near future."
