New
Bilingual Spanish Courses Teach Courtroom Terminology
The Phoenix College Foreign
Languages Department will offer two unique Community Bilingual Spanish
courses this Spring. These courses are specifically geared toward students
who are functionally bilingual in both English and Spanish and interested
in learning courtroom terminology. Both courses are three credit hours.
Students can now register for
the following Community Bilingual Spanish courses:
SPANISH FOR
CITY COURTS
Begins Thursday, January 23 (6:05 p.m. - 8:45 p.m.)
Spanish for City Courts places
an emphasis on translation from English to Spanish and from Spanish to
English when interpreting for misdemeanor cases in City Courts. This course
will familiarize students with the City Court system and standards for
interpreting.
Prerequisites include one of
the following: Spanish 202 (Intermediate Spanish II), Spanish 204 (Spanish
for Spanish Speaking Students) or permission from the instructor.
SPANISH LEGAL
TERMINOLOGY
Begins Tuesday, January 21 (6:05 p.m. - 8:45 p.m.)
Spanish Legal Terminology will
place an emphasis on specific vocabulary and linguistic structures. The
class is conducted entirely in Spanish.
Prerequisites include one of
the following: Spanish 202 (Intermediate Spanish II) or an equivalent
course or permission from the instructor.
