Phoenix College Offers New Course Just in Time for November Election
Phoenix College will offer a new political science course entitled Issues in American Politics just in time for the November election. Issues in American Politics will allow students to examine major issues facing the nation in the areas of politics, economics, social relations, foreign affairs and aesthetics by reading and viewing secondary information sources. This interactive journey through American Politics is extremely timely and will be presented in a seminar format that connects study to real world politics in the United States. With a historical election at hand, this course will bring to light the issues that demand the publics attention. The course requires students to have taken English 101 or English 107 or equivalent. Phoenix College
Rosemary Ybarra-Hernandez, a former Board of Regents Scholar, recipient of the United States Social Security Frank Figueroa Scholarship for Community Leadership and Patricia Roberts Harris Federal Fellow, will teach the course. As a champion for those in need, Ybarra-Hernandez has be recognized for her achievement in the design and delivery of award winning programs through work in government, education and non-profit organizations.
