Phoenix College Creative Writing Program Offers Unique Classes This Fall (PHOENIX, Ariz., Aug. 13, 2003) Are you interested in writing nonfiction? Poetry? Do you dare dabble in screenwriting? If so, its time to tap into your creative side. Phoenix College, one of only four community colleges in the nation to offer a Creative Writing Certificate Program, will begin its Fall semester on Aug. 25 with a variety of classes ranging from Journaling to Intermediate Screenwriting. Some classes include: Point of
View Every story is told by a voice. That voice and the way the writer uses it to tell the story is the point of view. This class will experiment with different points of view and participants will read and write short stories. Intermediate Screenwriting This course includes the drafting
and revision of an original screenplay. It will also offer an overview
on the marketing of a screenplay. Introduction of
Poetry Students will explore poetry from many different aspects. Participants will have an opportunity to write, revise and edit poems. Introduction to
Nonfiction This class covers creative nonfiction, including autobiography and biography, essay, reviews and humor. Journaling Journaling offers a safe place to explore, express and expand into more of oneself.
