(PHOENIX, Ariz., April 11, 2005) - The Phoenix College Alumni Association will host Swing for Scholarships, a golf tournament to support student and special needs scholarships and activities. The golf tournament will take place on Saturday, May 7 at McCormick Ranch Golf Club in Scottsdale.

The tournament will include an 18 hole, four person scramble as well as a special mulligan nine-hole event for amateurs or less experienced golfers. Both are open to all interested participants. Participants may enter as a team or as an individual, and individual players will be matched with a team.

The event will also include a luncheon for golf participants as well as non-golfers. The luncheon will include awards, prizes and raffle activities.

Hole sponsorships and donations are currently being accepted and greatly appreciated. Each hole sponsor will have a sign posted at a designated hole, as well as additional recognition throughout the event. A hole sponsorship is $250.

The tournament fees include $100 per golfer for the 18 hole tournament and $75 per golfer for the amateur nine-hole event, both including lunch. For those wishing to join the luncheon only, there is a fee of $30 per individual.

Soft-spiked golf shoes and collared shirts are recommended for all players.
