Soller Bids Farewell with Production of See How They Run Submitted by:
(PHOENIX, Ariz., April 20, 2005) - In his nearly 40 years with the Phoenix College Theatre department, Dr. Larry Soller has done it all: acting, directing, teaching, and the list goes on. His numerous television appearances include General Hospital, Young Riders, and made-for-TV movies on ABC television and Showtime. He is a card carrying member of the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) and Actors Equity, and his productions have received numerous awards and accolades. A high point for Soller came in 2003 when he was honored with the National Kennedy Center Award for Distinguished Teaching. On Friday, April 22, Soller will bid farewell to PC when the curtain rises on See How They Run, his last official production as a member of the faculty. See How They Run has special significance to Soller in that it was the first show he directed at PC when he started in the department in 1966. In recognition of Sollers retirement, the Phoenix College Alumni Association will pay a special tribute to Soller at the Annual Membership Meeting starting at 5:30 p.m. in the John Paul Theatre. All alumni, especially former students of Soller, are encouraged to attend. Alumni who attend the meeting will receive complimentary tickets to see the evenings performance of See How They Run. If you would like to participate in the tribute to Dr. Soller, please call (602) 285-7337 for more information.
