Phoenix College Announces May Scholarship Deadlines

Do you need help funding your college education? If so, don’t forget to stop by the Financial Aid Office and take a look at their bulletin boards to get the latest news on the scholarships due this May. All applications can be obtained in the Financial Aid Office. None of the scholarships listed on the bulletin boards are included in the 2003-2004 Phoenix College Scholarship Booklet.

Please note that the following scholarship announcements are due in May.

Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society/Delta of AZ Alumni Chapter
This scholarship is available for Fall 2003 to continuing PC students who have completed at least 15 credits with a 3.5 or higher GPA. It is for tuition only, and pays up to $300. The deadline is May 1, 2003.

CSEMS Scholarship Program
This program will award $1500.00 per semester to full time PC students who have completed a 100 level Math course or equivalent (MAT 120, MAT 122) with a grade of C or better before the application deadline. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, nationals, refugee aliens, or permanent resident aliens, and must qualify for financial aid. Contact Anne Hodgkins at 602-285-7157 for more information. Liboria Garcia Quiroz Memorial Scholarship
Awarded to first semester or re-entry female college students of Hispanic origin
who are single parents and applying for RN, LPN, or Respiratory Therapy
programs. Applicants must be active members of the PC M.E.Ch.A. Club, have a 2.5
GPA, be enrolled part time, and demonstrate community service involvement. The deadline is May 5, 2003.

Arizona Hispanic Pioneers Scholarship
This scholarship recognizes female students of Hispanic origin who are preparing for careers in Public Service, Public Administration, Public Health, Political Science, or Social Work. Must be an active member of the PC M.E.Ch.A. Club, have a 2.5 GPA, and be enrolled in at least 9 credits. The deadline is May 5, 2003.

The Textbook Source Student Appreciation Scholarship
This new scholarship will pay $100 towards books each semester. Must be attending PC full time, have a 2.75 GPA, and be working part time at least 15 hours per week. The deadline is May 5, 2003.

The Robin Adam Computer Tuition Scholarship
This scholarship awards continuing PC students who are interested in obtaining a degree in Computer Science or a related field. Must be enrolled full time, have a GPA of 2.5 or higher, and demonstrate financial need. The deadline is May 9, 2003.

The American Legion Auxiliary Past Presidents' Parley Scholarship
This award recognizes students in Health Care Occupations and Nurses Training programs. Preference is given to immediate family members of a Veteran. Must be a citizen of the U.S. as well as an AZ. resident for at least one year. The deadline is May 15, 2003.
