Aware Club Members Celebrated International Women’s Day at Phoenix Civic Plaza

Phoenix College AWARE Club members and college faculty and staff (left to right: B.G. The annual International Women’s Day Celebration commemorates the contributions of women to communities around the world.

This year’s celebration included an address from keynote speaker Susan L. Taylor, editorial director of Essence Magazine.

Three Phoenix College students (left to right: Maria Olivas, Greta Wesley and Edith Morgan) were International Women’s Day scholarship recipients. Other scholarship winners included Julia Carillo, Natalie Davis and Petra Tavernaro.
