Paralegal Studies: Assignment for First Class
In the Paralegal Studies
Program at Phoenix College, all classes have a reading assignment, written
assignment, or both, that students must complete before the first class.
To obtain that assignment,
login to Canvas, our online learning
system. All paralegal courses utilize Canvas to support the
class. For each paralegal class, there is a section in Canvas called
“Getting Started” and it’s at the top of the page when you go to your course in
Canvas. Click the link that says: “Reading Assignment Due for First
Class.”

Paralegal Studies: Using Webex
Webex is a simple,
easy-to-use system that you access using the browser from your computer or
smartphone. It allows students and the
instructor all see and talk to each other at the same time from anywhere they
have access to the Internet. In many
ways, it is just like being in a physical classroom together because everyone
is online at the same time and can see and hear each other.
Many of the paralegal studies courses at Phoenix College
use Webex. For
paralegal classes that use Webex, students will be
required to be online, using Webex, and participating
in the class during the scheduled class meeting times. You will meet each week in Webex instead of meeting in a physical classroom.
At a minimum, students will need to have a computer with a
microphone and speakers that can access the Internet. An inexpensie
headset with a microphone is optimal. If
you have a web cam, your instructor and other students can also then see
you. You will need a reliable Internet
connection. In some cases, you will be able
to participate on Webex using a smartphone if your
phone and the connection you have are capable of doing it.
