Theatre & Film

The Phoenix College Theatre & Film Department, one of the oldest and most respected theatre programs in Arizona, offers students the opportunity to earn an undergraduate AA transferable degree with an emphasis in acting, directing, technical work and design.

Collaboration and creativity are the hallmarks of our department. Students become an integral part of every aspect of production work. Because we are a small department, students have unlimited possibilities in exploring the many facets of theatrical production. In short, we are a student-centered theatre department.

Phoenix College and MCCD are leaders in supporting the arts. Our department has a professional faculty and staff dedicated to teaching and quality production work. We have an award winning facility that includes the 300-seat John Paul Theatre (a modified thrust), our experimental theatre space, Theatre One, and complete shops.  We have close working relationship with a number of professtional theatre companies in the Phoneix metropolitan area. The department has garnered numerous awards for excellence in theatre production and education. Welcome!
