WELCOME TO COMMUNICATION/AMERICAN SIGN LANGUAGE/THEATRE & FILM

The Department of Communication/American Sign Language/Theatre & Film offers three academic pathways as well as a rich and unusual array of programs.
 
  • Communication—Designed to enhance public speaking, small group, interpersonal and writing abilities through analytical and skill development. Successful completion of this program results in an AA/SR degree.
  • Interpreter Preparation/American Sign Language—The Interpreter Preparation Program enables students to become interpreters between deaf and hearing people. Successful completion of this program results in Certificate of Completion or AAS degree.
  • Theatre & Film—One of the oldest and most respected theatre programs in Arizona offers students the opportunity to earn an AA degree in theatre, with an emphasis in acting, technical work and design. The Film Studies program teaches students how to view films with a new and critical eye, one that reveals how film has the potential to impact history, culture and the times in which we live.
