Phoenix College was established in 1920 and has been inspiring music students ever since. The Music Program faculty is comprised of nationally and internationally renowned performers, conductors, composers, scholars, and teachers. The Music Program is devoted to providing access to quality music education to all of its students. The program offers a vast array of academic courses including: Composition, History, Music Technology, Multimedia, Theory, and Audio Recording. The Music Program also offers unique performance opportunities and experiences in various ensembles and private lessons. Whether you are a serious musician or would simply like to enrich your musical background, we hope that you will join us and share in our excitement.
With its varied, multicultural curriculum, the Music Program strikes a chord with virtually all students. Courses are offered in many categories of classical and popular music, along with private instruction for voice and many instruments. The Audio Production Technologies and Music Business degrees and certificates are geared toward students interested in audio recording, live sound, and other music business-related fields.
If you move on to complete your bachelor's degree at a university, career paths include music performance, music education, music therapy, composition, and the music business, which includes producing, managing a band, or becoming a recording engineer. Phoenix College graduates have found employment in the Tucson Symphony, as music teachers in public schools, and as freelance producers, musicians, and performers.
