Documentary Information
The Raul H. Castro Institute at Phoenix College proudly co-sponsored with the University of Arizona’s Center for Latin American Studies, the documentary Raul H. Castro:  Two Cultures, One Challenge directed by Sy Rotter and Luis Carlos Romero-Davis.

The documentary depicts the life of Raul H. Castro as Judge, Ambassador and Governor, careers in which Raul H. Castro served with distinction. Highlights of these experiences are presented in this 28 minute video biography. Facing discrimination and racial hostility from his earliest days as a Mexican immigrant child, this story of a remarkable man’s achievements is seen in his constant refusal to be restrained by either his Mexican or his U.S. cultural limitations. His determination to succeed in whatever activity he entered is clearly evidenced in this motivational film produced for students and the community.

Proceeds from the documentary will be directed to support the mission of the Raul H. Castro Institute on Hispanic Public Policy Issues.
