The purpose of this organization shall be to:

1. Promote excellence in teaching; 

2. Serve as the exclusive negotiation representative of the faculty to the district administration, to the college administration, and to the governing board on academic and professional matters;
 
3. Select representatives to serve on administrative councils and on coordinating committees of the faculties of the colleges in the district;

4. Participate in the formation and implementation of policies affecting education and professional working conditions and/or relationships for Phoenix College and the Maricopa County Community College District.
