Achieving a College Education Program (ACE) is a nationally recognized program that targets students who may not consider going to college and attaining a bachelor’s degree as an achievable goal.  This program is specifically designed to help students make a smooth transition from high school to an accredited community college, then moving on to a university in order to complete a bachelor’s degree.

ACE students are high school juniors and seniors currently enrolled in college courses while they are attending regular high school. Throughout the two years, ACE students take classes on the Phoenix College campus in order to experience and acclimate to a college environment in a real-time setting.

Classes meet during the regular summer sessions and every Saturday during the fall and spring semesters. Upon graduating from high school, an ACE student will have earned up to 24 transferable college credits.

The PC ACE Program recruits sophomores from the following Phoenix Union High Schools:

  • Camelback High School
  • Carl Hayden High School
  • Central High School
  • Metro-Tech High School
  • North High School
  • Teacher Prep High School
  • Washington High School
  • St. Mary's High School
  • Bostrom High School
  • Summit High School

This program is a 2+2+2 model program.  The first (2) corresponds to the student's junior and senior years in high school and Phoenix College.  The second (2) corresponds to the students two years at Phoenix College.  The last (2) corresponds to the student's two years at the university and the attainment of a baccalaureate degree.  High school juniors and seniors take college courses Monday through Thursday during the summer and Saturdays during the fall and spring semesters.  This program enables high school students to earn up to 24 college credits upon graduating from high school.

The PC-ACE Scholarship includes:

  • Tuition for up to 24 credit hours, a value of over $1,400
  • All the rights and privileges provided to Phoenix College Students:
Counseling, Advisement, Career, Scholarships, Financial Aid, Special Services and Workshops for you and your family
