Registration Information

Steps for Admission to the Therapeutic Massage Core Curriculum

1. Attend an orientation.

2. Phoenix College Admissions

  • Complete a Phoenix College Student Information form (application) and submit it to Admissions and Records before taking ASSET test.
  • Complete the ASSET placement test in the Testing Center. College transcripts indicating passing grades in English, Reading and Math courses may substitute for the ASSET test.
3. Complete Prerequisite Classes with a grade of "C" of better.
  • WED165 - Overview of Massage Therapy
  • WED151 - Overview of Alternative Medicine
  • BIO160 - Intro. Human Anatomy/Physiology
  • HCC130 - Fundamentals in Health Care Delivery
  • HCC145AA - Medical Terminology for Health Care
  • WED215 - Selfcare for Massage Therapists

4. Upon completion of orientation and prerequisites with a 'C' or better, a student may apply and interview for selection into the program. Submit a Therapeutic Massage Application and an unofficial copy of transcript from any non-Phoenix College institution to Dianne Geddis, South Gym G103 by:

October 15 , 2005 : For entrance into Spring ’06 CORE Program.

5. Schedule Interview appointment with Diane Geddis at (602) 285-7649.

6. Successfully complete interview for selection into Program.

7. If selected for the Program, submit the following:

  • Completed Health Declaration Form including:
  • MMR & Varicella Immunization
  • Recent TB Skin Test
  • Hepatitis B immunization or Waiver
  • Tetanus Diptheria
  • Proof of Health Care Provider CPR Certification
  • Drug Screening Results
  • Current Fingerprint Clearance Card

o Dianne Geddis in Room G103, by August 12, 2005 for Fall '05 CORE Entrance or by January 15, 2006 for Spring '06 CORE Entrance.
