Safe Exercise
Goal: Assist students in learning proper principles of exercise safety.
Objective
- Students will view materials related to:
- Training in the target heart rate zone
- Using proper back safe principles when performing strength exercise
- Proper exercise form
- Progress gradually in exercise intensity
- Proper dress for exercise
- Proper footwear for exercise
- Not to exercise when ill
- To maintain proper hydration
- To get proper amounts of sleep
Procedures
- When the student selects the “Exercise Safety” link on the web site, the instruction will proceed. Students will be directed through each step.
- Students are encouraged to take notes.
