Safe Exercise

Goal: Assist students in learning proper principles of exercise safety.

Objective

  1. Students will view materials related to:
    • Training in the target heart rate zone
    • Using proper back safe principles when performing strength exercise
    • Proper exercise form
    • Progress gradually in exercise intensity
    • Proper dress for exercise
    • Proper footwear for exercise
    • Not to exercise when ill
    • To maintain proper hydration
    • To get proper amounts of sleep

Procedures

  1. When the student selects the “Exercise Safety” link on the web site, the instruction will proceed. Students will be directed through each step.
  2. Students are encouraged to take notes.
