Cardiovascular Endurance

Goal: Learners will demonstrate the application of the F.I.T.T. principle for cardio-exercise using personal information supplied by the learner.

Objective:

  1. Students will view instruction on applying frequency, intensity, time, and type to their cardiovascular program.
  2. Students will be asked to calculate their own Predicted Maximum Heart Rate (PMHR) and will be provided feedback on the success of those calculations.
  3. Students will be asked to select an intensity level (Beginner, Average, Advanced) based on selection criteria provided.
  4. Students will be asked to count and calculate their own Resting Heart Rate (RHR) and will be provided feedback on the success of those calculations.
  5. Students will be asked to select types of cardiovascular exercise that they prefer.

Procedures:

  1. When the student selects the “Cardiovascular Endurance” link on the web site, the instruction will proceed. Students will be directed through each step.
  2. Students are encouraged to take notes.
  3. A timer is provided to the students to count their own heart rate.
