Internet Explorer 7 Setup for Blackboard

 

Step 1 - Install and/or update to the latest version Windows Internet Explorer (I.E.) with service packs. Leave all default settings except those described below.

Step 2 - Uninstall or turn off any and all second party pop-up blockers (e.g.: STOPzilla, PopSwatter, Google Toolbar, etc.).

Step 3 - Turn Pop-up Blocker off:
First select Tools button image. Then mouse over pop-up blocker image. And click Turn off Pop-up blocker image.

Step 4 -  Click on Tools button image dropdown menu and select Internet options link image. In the internet options image window select security link image tab. Inside the Security window click on the trusted sites image icon and select sites link image button. Then place your campuses Blackboard URL into list of trusted sites and click Add:

Then click close link image button. Once back to security link image window select custom level image button. Once in the Security Settings window scroll down the Settings menu until you see Display Mixed Content and select Enable. Then in the Reset Custom Settings menu select Low and click Reset and OK as shown below.

Step 5 - While still in internet option link image and in the security link image area click on internet icon image icon. Then click the custom level link image button. You will now be in the 10 window for internet link image. Choose custom setting Security Settings image and click reset button image button, then OK button image button. Lastly select the apply button image button and internet options window image window will close

Additionally check for the installation of required plugins.
To effectively utilize the variety of content in courses, the following plugins and features should all be successfully installed:

Latest version Java (Sun) - Correctly Installed   
Adobe Acrobat Reader  - Correctly Installed. 
Macromedia Flash  - Correctly Installed. 
Apple QuickTime  - Correctly Installed. 
RealPlayer  - Correctly Installed. 
Windows Media Player – Correctly Installed
