PHOENIX (November 1, 2002) -- Phoenix College Head Softball Coach Heinz Mueller reached yet another plateau this past season when he notched his 500th victory. Coach Mueller will be honored by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association with the Easton Victory Club Award. The ceremony will take place on December 5 in St. Petersburg, Florida, during the NFCA's annual convention.

Mueller, head coach of the Lady Bears for the past 12 seasons, has twice been honored by the NFCA as the NJCAA Division II Outstanding Coach of the Year. His squads have enjoyed success both on and off the field. The 2002 season was a prime example as the squad placed fourth nationally on the field and seventh in the nation with a 3.55 cumulative grade point average.
