Honors Abound for 2005 Bears The 2005 Phoenix College Bears ended the regular season as the top-ranked NJCAA Division II program in the nation. The team's 55 victories entering the postseason were honored by the ACCAC and Region 1 coaches recently when several Bears won awards. Sophomore shortstop Chelsie Mesa, a signee with the University of Arizona, earned the ACCAC Player of the Year honor after batting .521 with 12 homeruns. Mesa also earned First Team All-ACCAC and NJCAA First Team All-Region 1 honors. Following is a complete list of all honors awarded to the Bears: ACCAC PLAYER OF THE YEAR
