Valerie Scott Inks with PC Women's Soccer, Track

Valerie Scott signed an NJCAA National Letter of Intent Friday, January 28, 2005 with Phoenix College to run track and play soccer at Phoenix College. Val comes to Phoenix College by way of Ironwood High School where she as excelled in both track and soccer.

Head Women's Soccer Coach, Morgan Lee says, "We are looking forward to Val joining us. She will bring a new dimension to us where ever she is on the field for us....SPEED! I am particularly excited about this because it is an element that we have been lacking for the last couple of years. In addition, I feel that Val is a good fit for our program. I am so grateful for coaches like our Track Coach Willie Jones, who supports and encourages athletes who want to be dual sport athletes. She is a great kid and good student that also happens to be a good athlete. I am convinced that you can build a good program from athletes just like her."

Track Coach Willies Jones states, "We are equally excited about the addition of Valerie Scott because she is good already, but she has potential to be great. She will add depth to our chart. She brings with her a great attitude, fun personality, and willingness to learn on the track and in the classroom. I love soccer players and Coach Lee is more than supportive about her (Val) being a dual sport athlete."

This coming Fall of 2005, Valerie will be suiting up for the Bears Women's Soccer Program wearing the # 18 jersey and will joining the track team shortly after the conclusion of soccer season.
