In 1996 at the top of my sport, I was involved in a serious car accident. The individual in a Bronco failed to stop at a stop sign running into my vehicle. Due to the nature of my injuries, it took me away from Track and field for several years. The difficulties of trying to come back to the top is challenging, but not impossible. My experience with coaching other athletes has reunited my sprit of competition. I still have so much to give to track and field and expect to be the top pole-vaulter in the world in the next few years. It has been a joy to give back to the track and field world as a coach at Phoenix College!
