PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

JAMES FONTENET
Scottsdale
(week ending Feb. 22, 2004)
James Fontenet has joined Eric
Bloom of Glendale as the only repeat winners of the
ACCAC Player of the Week honor with his nod for the
week ending February 22. Fontenet tallied 38 points,
connecting on eight 3-pointers, and dished out six
assists in a victory over Arizona Western. He followed
that effort with 28 points and five steals in the
Artichokes victory over Chandler-Gilbert.

AKEEN PRICE
Yavapai
(week ending Feb. 15, 2004)
Yavapai's Akeem Price earned the
NJCCA National Player of the Week and ACCAC Player
of the Week honor after leading the Roughriders to
a pair of victories on the week. The sophomore from
Pontiac, Michigan, scored 28 points and pulled down
eight rebounds in an 84-52 win over South Mountain
and capped the week with 25 points and 10 rebounds
in a 97-91 win over Central Arizona.

JAMES FONTENET
Scottsdale
(week ending Feb. 8, 2004)
Scottsdale's James Fontenet has
been named the ACCAC Player of the Week after helping
the Artichokes to a pair of victories in three games
on the week. Fontenet scored 26 points in a 30-point
victory over Southwestern and then tallied 17 points
and dished out five assists in a three-point loss
to South Mountain. In the finale on the week for Scottsdale,
he scored 30 points while draining six three pointers
as the Artichokes defeated Central Arizona 89-72.

ERIC BLOOM
Glendale
(week ending Feb. 1, 2004)
Glendale's Eric Bloom is the first
repeat winner of the ACCAC Men's Basketball Player
of the Week honor during the 2003-2004 season. The
sophomore from Phoenix also garnered the honor for
the week ending January 4.
This time around, Bloom helped
the Gauchos split a pair of games on the week. He
scored 10 points, pulled down nine rebounds and dished
out five assists in a victory over Pima. In the Gauchos
loss to top ranked Yavapai, Bloom drilled six three-pointers
and ended the game with 40 points.

STEPHEN SORIANO
Central Arizona
(week ending Jan. 25, 2004)
Steven Soriano, a freshman for
Central Arizona, has been awarded the ACCAC Player
of the Week honor after leading the Vaqueros to a
2-1 record on the week. Soriano had nine points, 10
rebounds and six assists in a victory over Southwestern.
In a loss to Eastern Arizona, Soriano netted 24 points.
In the week's finale, he led Central to a win over
Phoenix with 28 points and 12 rebounds.

BRYSON KRUEGER
Yavapai
(week ending Jan. 18, 2004)
Bryson Krueger earned the ACCAC
Player of the Week honor after leading Yavapai to
three wins during the past week. Kruger tallied 14
points and five rebounds in the Roughriders victory
over Southwestern. He then netted 34 points in a win
over Pima and completed the week with a 26-point effort
in a one point victory over Arizona Western.

RYAN ROURKE
Mesa
(week ending Jan. 11, 2004)
Ryan Rourke, a sophomore at Mesa
Community College, earned the ACCAC's Player of the
Week honor after leading the Thunderbirds to a split
in a pair of Conference games on the week. Rourke
scored 20 points and dished out five assists in a
loss to Glendale. He then led the Thunderbirds with
33 points and 11 boards in a victory over Pima.

ERIC BLOOM
Glendale
(week ending Jan. 4, 2004)
Eric Bloom helped Glendale Community
College capture the Championship trophy at the San
Diego Tournament. Bloom scored 30 points and grabbed
four rebounds in a victory over Glendale (CA). He
then posted 39 points and four boards against Citrus
to be named the Tournament MVP.

NOE ALONZO
South Mountain
(week ending Dec. 13, 2003)
Noe Alonzo helped lead South Mountain
to a split in a pair of games on the week. In the
Cougars loss to Glendale, Alonzo tallied 34 points
and grabbed eight rebounds. He then posted 19 points
and eight boards to lead SMCC to a victory over Southwestern.

FRED MARSHALL
Mesa
(week ending Dec. 6, 2003)
Fred Marshall helped the Thunderbirds
to a split in their two games on the week. Marshall,
a sophomore from Atlanta, Georgia, posted 21 points
and eight rebounds in a victory over South Mountain
and then tallied 29 points and grabbed seven boards
against Yavapai.
