Case Study #11

A 24-year old female presented at the dental office for an exam and dental hygiene therapy. She had been coming in every 4 months for the past 5 years, but had missed her last 3 appointments. There was no change in her medical history, which displayed only a history of hospitalization for pregnancies. Her oral cancer exam was within normal limits as were her vitals.

The periodontal exam revealed the following:

generalized 2-3 mm probing depths
1 mm recession on facial of #21 and #28
generalized mild marginal gingivitis
slight plaque and calculus
