Upon oral exam, his gingiva appeared diffusely erythematous with ulcerated interdental papilla which were blunted in most areas.
Grayish tissue which peeled off easily was present in the ulcerated interdental areas, particulary between the maxillary cuspid and premolar as pictured. Diffuse bleeding occurred upon gentle probing.
Review of his medical history displayed that he was in good health. His blood pressure was 124/72. The submandibular lymph nodes were tender, palpable and enlarged.
