Course
description:
This 72 clock hour comprehensive course will prepare students to enter the
pharmacy field and to take the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board's PTCB
exam. Technicians work in hospitals, home infusion pharmacies, community
pharmacies and other health care settings - working under the supervision of
a registered pharmacist. Course content includes medical terminology specific
to the pharmacy, reading and interpreting prescriptions and defining drugs by
generic and brand names. Students will learn dosage calculations, I.V. flow
rates, drug compounding, dose conversions, dispensing of prescriptions,
inventory control and billing and reimbursement.
Course fee: $915.00 (includes books and materials).
Prerequisites:
High School Diploma or GED. Knowledge of basic arithmetic/math (primarily
proportions and fractions).
All classes are taught by
an Interim Licensed or Practicing Registered Pharmacist or Doctor of Pharmacy
or Certified Pharmacy Technician who brings real life experience to the classroom. A Recognition of Completion
document is granted upon successful completion.

Class fees will be refunded in full for classes canceled by

College

Class fees will also be refunded if students withdraw from a class prior to
the first class meeting. Failure to attend class does not guarantee being
withdrawn or being eligible for a refund. Responsibility for withdrawing
remains with the students. Students may withdraw from a class by contacting
