1st and 2nd shift
$12.70/hour.Second shift positions are eligible for $.75 shift differential if their shift begins after 3:00 p.m.
($.75 more per hour for certified technicians)

These call center technicians make calls to patients for various reasons, such as to clear up Rx questions. They also make calls to physicians for clarification on certain incomplete or illegible information. Technicians may also contact insurance plans to resolve any processing issues.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma/GED required
  • Must type 40 wpm
  • Must become a certified pharmacy technician within two years of hire date
  • Call Center experience a plus

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The Client & Patient Services organization is responsible for ensuring high-quality service delivery to Express Scripts' members and clients in a cost-efficient manner. Patient Services provides mail pharmacy services, addresses members' inquiries and provides value-added consultation. In addition this organization includes Client Services, which encompasses client and benefit administration, quality control, implementation, client support center (CSC), participant materials, clinical operations and eligibility. In addition, Client & Patient Services includes centralized functions to drive continuous process improvement, pharmacy compliance and forward-looking planning. This organization also includes Medical Affairs, Clinical Services, and Express Scripts' Pharma Business Services subsidiary.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare and verify new prescription orders and refill orders. Select and retrieve appropriate medications, compound and dispense medical prescriptions, verify quantities, and prepare labels for bottles. Send order to Pharmacist for completion and verification. Pre-pack medications from manufactures bottles to use in dispensing medication in the `quick-pick areas. Prepare medications for shipment. Receive and store incoming medications and count stock. Replenish workstation supplies such as pill bottles, caps, safety seals and paper. Vary work duties according to business need.

Prepare and verify new prescription orders and refill orders while maintaining productivity and quality standards. Enter patient and prescription information in to computer system. Identify missing or inconsistent information and send to Pharmacist for verification.
Select and retrieve appropriate medications, compound and dispense medical prescriptions, verify quantities, and prepare labels for bottles. Send order to Pharmacist for completion and verification. Pre-pack medications from manufacture’s bottles to use in dispensing medication in the `quick-pick areas. Prepare medications for shipment.

Clean equipment and replenish workstation supplies such as pill bottles, caps, safety seals and paper. May operate, refill and clean the pill counting machine.

May operate automated fulfillment machine, scan canisters to monitor supply levels and refill medication supplies as needed. May work with software to maintain and maximize the efficiency and productivity of the machines.

Additional duties as assigned.
B Shift - Friday through Monday - 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM

D Shift - Monday through Friday - 4:30 PM to 12:30 AM

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent
  • Pharmacy technician certification per state guidelines
  • Experience in a retail pharmacy setting very helpful
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within dispensing pharmacy helpful
  • Very detail oriented with organizational skills
  • Ability to adapt in a dynamic work environment, learn quickly, solve problems and make decisions.
  • General PC knowledge
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule for peak times
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time

Process all new and refill prescriptions. Open orders as needed, verify eligibility, proof and input prescriptions while maintaining productivity and quality standards. Document correspondence and follow up in system. Prepare audit sheets and provide feedback to supervisor.

Forward incomplete or rejected scripts to appropriate department for resolution and track status in the system.
Initiate and document correspondence and follow up in system. Log order status. Provide audit reports to management.

Work collaboratively with other team members and supervisor to ensure that best-practices are shared.
May assist with research of lost or missing orders per internal department requests.

May provide backup support to other pharmacy groups based on business needs or production levels.
Additional duties as assigned.
Additional Information:

Schedule is 1st shift and will require working Saturday or Sunday every week.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have experience reading prescriptions and translating SIG codes
  • Strong data entry and 10-key skills required
  • Pharmacy experience required in mail order, retail or hospital (externship OK)
  • Must have Arizona trainee or technician license
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, production environment
  • Excellent computer navigation skills
  • Basic math skills required
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good organizational ability
  • Prescription order input experience preferred
  • Certification (CPhT) preferred
