1. The detailed reports from the campus climate survey have now been posted online. These reports provide the overall responses by survey question and provide demographic analysis without compromising individual anonymity. 2. Two of our esteemed colleagues, Dr. Phil Tate and Mark Rosati (Biology) were featured in the Arizona Biotech edition of The Business Journal. The Business Journal article entitled, “Ahead of the Curve – State universities reaping benefits of new funds” focused on recent projects and equipment funded by Prop 301.

3. On Monday, Sept. 13, KPHO – Channel 5 interviewed one of our Histology and Lab Assisting students, Carly Austin and filmed Barbara Cole’s Biology 156 lab. The coverage is scheduled to air on Monday, Sept. 20 during the 6:30 p.m. broadcast.

4. The Phoenix College Business Department will award a total of $13,400 in scholarships to 35 students during a recognition ceremony on Monday, Sept. 27. The ceremony will begin at 6 p.m. in the Bulpitt Auditorium and will feature Phoenix College alumnus and guest speaker, Maria Silva.  Congratulations to the following recipients:

5. The PC Alumni Association will be selling 12 oz. bottles of water for $.30 in Sophomore Square from 11:00 am -2:00 pm every Wednesday through October.  These alumni will also share information about the Maricopa Community Colleges bond.

6. Please mark your calendars for an upcoming major event which will provide the Chancellor with an opportunity to share his vision for the Maricopa Community Colleges with the larger community.  The event, titled "Beyond Boundaries:  A Vision for Maricopa's Community Colleges," will be held on Tuesday, September 21, 2004 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 pm at the Orpheum Theatre, 203 West Adams Street in Phoenix, Arizona.  A reception will follow at the City Hall Atruim.  The agenda for the event is as follows:

10.  Phase V of the President's Roundtable will take place on Monday, September 20, 2004 from 1:00 pm to 4:45 pm in the Dome Conference Room.

This is a gathering of community stakeholders, partners and college leaders.  This session will showcase best practices in partnerships.

The meeting will begin with a keynote speech from nationally recognized author and the current president of TGen Foundation, Mr. Michael L. Bassoff.

11. "Prop 401 Question of the Week"

What is the amount of the Maricopa Community Colleges bond and what is the time frame?

The total amount of the bonds that will issued over a 20-year period is $951,359,000.  The buildings built by these bonds will be completed within ten years.
