Q.  What does the United Way do in addition to raising money?

A.  Fundraising is just one part of the immense value Valley of the Sun United Way brings to our community.  By partnering with businesses, government, non-profit organizations, and individuals, the VSUW helps to improve lives and create sustained change in the community.   Valley of the Sun United Way also monitors the Valley's changing needs and focuses resources to provide quality solutions.  Remember that contributions to the Maricopa Community Colleges Foundation benefits the district's ACE Program.  The code to write on your form is 2803.  Please remember to sign your form before you return it to the president's office.

Q.  What is the Achieving a College Education Program (ACE)?

A.  The Achieving a College Education Program (ACE) is a nationally recognized program that targets students who may not consider going to college and attaining a baccalaureate degree an achievable goal.  The program takes qualifying high school juniors and seniors through college courses on Saturdays during the fall and spring semesters and Monday through Thursday during the summer semester of their last two years in high school.  This program enables high school students to earn up to 24 college credits while still in high school.
