1.  The November issue of the nationally circulated Hispanic Outlook magazine lists the top 50 schools for paralegal/legal assistant associate degree programs in 2002. Out of the top 50, Phoenix College was ranked #29 with 30 completers. Five of the 30 were Hispanic females. It is important to note that there are 800+ programs of this type in the U.S. and our faculty are to be commended for this high ranking.

2. Congratulations to Pat Mooney! Pat was recently named the ACCAC volleyball coach of the year.

A system of computer software, hardware,data and personnel to help manipulate, analyze and present information that is tied to a spatial location.

Come to a free 50-minute, multimedia presentation sponsored by the Biology Department at Phoenix College on Wednesday, November 17, 2004.

4. Debra Dorr (Industrial Technology) will be featured in the 2003-2004 edition of Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers®.  The publication, which celebrates the achievements of America’s best instructors, will be available this September.  Congratulations Debra! 

5. Dr. Pete Dimas (Liberal Arts) recently appeared on Horizonte, KAET TV.  He was interviewed about his documentary, Los Veteranos of World War II: A mission for social change in Central Arizona, which will debut at Phoenix College on Wednesday, Dec. 8 at 7 p.m. in the Bulpitt Auditorium.

6. November 15-19, 2004 has been designated International Education Week by the Department of Education and the Department of State.  First held in 2000, International Education Week is celebrated all across the United States and in more than 85 countries worldwide. 
 

International Education Week is an opportunity to promote and celebrate the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide.  The week also provides a forum to reaffirm the goals and the benefits of international education and exchange, including their importance to U.S. security and to homeland security for people around the world.
