4. A special congratulations is extended to Dana Fladhammer (Applied Business). She was named AZ Post Secondary Business Educator-of-the-Year by the AZ Business Education Association during their spring conference.

5. Congratulations to Dr. Albert Celoza (Liberal Arts) and his Model United Nations Team. The Phoenix College Team recently brought home prestigious awards from the Western Collegiate Model United Nations Conference in California. They received the Distinguished Delegation Award and Alan Heckman was elected the Secretary General for the 2005 Western Collegiate Model United Nations Conference. We applaud each of you for your hard work.

7. Well deserved applause goes to Liz O'Brien (Communications/Theatre) and her departmental colleagues and students.  If you didn't attend a performance of "Talking With," you missed a chance to see Liz's outstanding performance as Alain in the "Marks" monologue.  This production was directed by Dr. Larry Soller.

In addition, the Communications/Theatre Department is in the middle of hosting its annual Storybook Stagecoach.  Approximately 2,000 elementary school students enjoy stories as they are brought to life by Phoenix College students.

8.  We have received notice that the visiting team from the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools will visit Phoenix College on April 10-12, 2006.  I want to take this opportunity to thank the PC Accreditation Steering Committee for all of its great work to launch this bery important self-study process.
