1. Congratulations to the new Phoenix College Professional Staff Association board members. They include: President – Priscilla Gonzales President-elect – Patti Schellhase & Lynn Mary Secretary – Diana Martinez Treasurer – Mary Schwenck 3. Make note that you have until May 21 to complete the Campus Climate Survey. Please take a moment to fill out the survey and send it back to Fox Lawson & Associates. If you did not receive a survey, contact Scott Geddis, Chair of the Commitment to Employee Excellence Committee at 57122. 4. Manny Lechuga has transferred from the Information Center to the Testing Center on an OYO basis. Please welcome him as he begins this new assignment. 5. Richard Goodman, PC Alum and Urban Teacher Corp participant, was honored at this year's UTC convocation at ASU. Richard attended Phoenix College and Rio Salado College before transferring to ASU Main where he graduated Summa Cum Laude. Richard started in the UTC program in 1998. 6.
Congratulations to Mina Cavazos, Christy Hair, Patti Lesser, Beverly
Mayor, and Monica Rapps, all recent graduates from the Phoenix College
Legal Assisting Program, for passing the March examination for their
Certified Legal Assistant (CLA) certification. The CLA is
administered by the National Association of Legal 7. Phoenix College received a letter from Dr. Stephen Sylvester, Dean of Arts & Sciences at Peru State College and member of West MUN Board of Directors, commending Dr. Albert Celoza. Dr. Sylvester wrote to express his thanks to Dr. Celoza for his dedicated work with students. A delegation of PC students participated recently in the Western Collegiate Model United Nations conference in Ventura, California. Dr. Sylvester made the following comments, "Professor Celoza has been a singularly effective advisor and long-time participant in West MUN. His delegations are consistently knowledgeable, well-prepared and dedicated. Their performance was exemplary and contributed materially to a highly effective experience for all of the delegates." 8.
Congratulations to PC's 400 students who participated in the
Commencement Ceremony on Friday, May 14, 2004. During the 2003-2004
year, Phoenix College granted 1,771 certificates and diplomas in
