1.  The FIPP (Faculty in Progress Program) class of 2003-04 visited Phoenix College this week to listen and interact with a panel consisting of former PC FIPP graduates and their mentors. Their visit was well received and proved to be enlightening and informative. The FIPP program is a 9-month internship designed to provide teaching experience, mentorship, and professional growth opportunities that result in knowledge and skills necessary to better prepare candidates to seek competitive employment in a residential teaching position at the Maricopa Community Colleges.

2.  Phoenix College is looking for 10 outstanding students to serve as PC ambassadors for the 2004 -2005 academic year. All applicants must be recommended by administrators, faculty or staff by April 22. Candidates must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and be in good academic and disciplinary standing. PC Ambassadors will serve as college recruiters, campus tour guides and student orientation leaders. Professional training will be provided in the areas of leadership, communication skills, customer service, marketing and recruitment in order to promote the programs, services and resources available at Phoenix College.

4.  The Student Massage Center is currently taking appointments for free student massages. So if you are feeling a little stressed or overwhelmed, take a break and enjoy a relaxing massage. 5.  Phoenix College is honored to host Mayor Phil Gordon on Wednesday, April 7th.  The mayor will speak on the Future of Phoenix.  His presentation will be from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in the Bulpitt Auditorium.  The event is free and open to the public.  For further information, please call (602) 285-7185.

6.  The Phoenix College Achieving a College Education (ACE) program will commemorate the first graduating class of the PC ACE program with the Shooting for ACE: Golf Tournament Fundraiser on Saturday, May 15. The tournament, which is open to all interested participants, will take place at the Villa de Paz Golf Course (located near 103rd Ave. and Indian School). 7.  B.G. Bowley (Transportation Department) is conducting a Lifelong Learning workshop on Automotive Know-How for the Non Mechanic to be held on Saturday, April 3, from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.  B.G. will share tips on proper car maintenance, vehicle safety, and guidelines for tire safety as well as what to do if your car breaks down.  Hands-on instruction and inspections will take place in participant vehicles.  For more information, call Judi McCoy (PC Lifelong Learning Program) at 5-7192 or B.G. 8.  I would like to thank the NCA Steering Team/Writers for their committment and dedication.  The team just returned from Chicago after attending the NCA/Higher Learning Commission Conference in preparation for PC's upcoming accreditation.

9.  Please mark your calendars for our upcoming All-College meeting on April 7th.  For your convenience, two sessions are being  offered.  The first session will be from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. and the second session will be from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.  Refreshments will be served.
