2. Phoenix College was a popular entry in the St. Patrick's Day Parade last Saturday. Mike Murphy, Institutional Advancement, drove the Mini Cooper and Bumstead worked the crowd, including posing for photos with the kids. The thousands lining Central Avenue loved the PC car, and the kids and parents got a big kick out of Bumstead. Our entry was placed prominently up front with Mayor Phil Gordon, Attorney General Terry Goddard and the city council members. We plan to enter similar events as we continue to take PC out to the community. 3. It gives me great pleasure to announce that Phoenix College has been selected to appear on the Arizona Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (AASFAA) web site as a featured member. This status allows our college web site to be linked to the AASFAA web site for a selected time frame. Kudos to Financial Aid! 4. The Phoenix College Alumni Association (PCAA) is seeking qualified candidates for its 2004 Hall of Fame. This award recognizes the outstanding achievements of Phoenix College alumni, as well as current and/or retired faculty. Honorees will be recognized during the "Phoenix College History Makers - Sixth Annual Hall of Fame Dinner and Auction" on October 22. The deadline for nominations is June 1, 2004. If you have any questions or need to pick up a nomination form, please call (602) 285-7667 or to download a nomination form click here, visit the story online at www.phoenixcollege.edu. 6. Phoenix College students made great headlines this week. First, photography student, Zachary Jensen was featured in The Arizona Republic's Local People section for being selected as a finalist in the 24th annual Student Photography Contest for Photographer's Forum magazine, which was sponsored by Nikon, U.S.A. Also, my student worker, Valerie Pacheco, was featured for her undying commitment to volunteerism in The Arizona Republic's Local section. She is spending her Spring Break volunteering for the Crisis Nursery.8. Alums from as far away as California and Texas attended this year's Phoenix College Alumni Association Half Century Luncheon. Thirty-five alumni from the Class of 1954 were inducted. One hundred and eighty alumni and guests attended this successful event.
