4. This week, approximately 175 eighth-grade students from Phoenix Elementary and Isaac Elementary visited the Phoenix College campus thanks to Early Start to College (ESC), a project of the Hispanic Boarder Leadership Institute (HBLI) at Arizona State University. Thanks to the Office of Recruitment and Retention and the PC ambassadors, Phoenix College successfully introduced these youth to our campus through campus and program tours, activities and program sessions.

5. The Phoenix College Health and Wellness Committee will join forces with Mobile On-site Mammography or "M.O.M." to provide on-site breast cancer screening on March 29, 2004 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Phoenix College Administration parking lot. Insurance coverage with Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) and other select carriers will be accepted. However, the fee for non-insured patients is $112.35, which includes the radiologist reading. In addition to the regular interpretation by the radiologist, the R-2 computerized reading will also be offered for $24, which is also covered by BCBS.

Patients under the age of 35 must provide a referral from their doctor. Baseline mammograms start at age 35-39, and most insurance plans cover women every year over the age of 40. To schedule an appointment, call (480) 967-3767. For questions, please call (602) 285-7708.
