Results
1. The Phoenix College ASID Student Chapter raised
approximately $1,600 during its second annual Designer Yard Sale.
The students sold items donated from designers, showrooms and friends from
across the Valley. The funds raised during the event will go towards
student programs and the chapter’s newly established scholarship
program. All unsold items were donated to the Sojourner Center
“Second Treasures” Thrift Store.
2. Congratulations to Lucia Kisiel (Mathematics) and Don
Miehls (Liberal Arts). Both Lucia and Don were selected to receive
the 2003-2004 Phoenix College Distinguished Teaching Award. Please
join me in recognizing them during a reception in their honor on Friday,
April 30 in A-204 from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.
3. Congratulations to the following Ursa

6. Mark your calendars for the End-of-the-Year
Celebration. The event is scheduled for Friday, May 14.
Festivities will get underway at 9:30 a.m. Let’s applaud our efforts
and celebrate another successful academic year.
7. The new Title V Math + Science Center will host a sneak
preview this Friday, April 30 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. upstairs in the
Library. Stop by to see the new wonderful
facility.
8. I would like to recognize our very own Dr. Trino
Sandoval (Foreign Languages) for his weekly column “Essential Español” in
The Arizona Republic. His weekly Spanish lesson appears every Friday
in Extra – the newest edition of The Arizona Republic.
9. We want to wish Jeremy Moreland the best of luck
with his new opportunity with The University of Phoenix. Jeremy's
last day will be May 3. Damita Kaloostian will serve as interim
director.
