Streak Moves Phoenix to Second in National Poll

Phoenix College's women's basketball team's 10 consecutive victories has earned the Lady Bears some national attention. Head Coach Liza Oakley's squad is 10-1 and ranked second in the latest National Junior College Athletic Association's Division II National poll.

Ranked seventh in the preseason poll, Phoenix garnered 45 points from voters in the latest poll to pull to within two points of overtaking the nation's top-ranked Illinois Central College. Rounding out the top-10 are Johnson County Community College (3rd with 39 points), Kirkwood Community College (4th with 37 points), Owens Community College (5th with 29 points), CCBC Catonsville (6th with 27 points), Penn Valley Community College (7th with 25 points), Monroe Community College Rochester 8th with 19 points), Edison Community College 9th with 16 points), and Kankakee Community College 10th with 14 points).
