February 2005 In the Spotlight Presents...
The PC Softball Program's Alumni Day

On January 8, 2005, The Women's Softball Team hosted its annual Alumni game. Although overcast and rainy, over 50 former players attended, as well as lots of family members, including numerous children, who no doubt are all future Phoenix College athletes!

The game, and the whole day, were both an overwhelming success. All the players, family members, and coaches enjoyed the game, which was played as a friendly but very spirited event.

The game included an unlikely occurrence as Assistant Athletic Director and Women's Soccer Coach Morgan Lee somehow found his way into the game as a pinch runner. Morgan didn't hesitate to show off his speed, or lack there of, on the base path. Not the prettiest of sights!

After the game the players and families enjoyed a barbecue while exchanging stories and catching up on what they have been doing during the past year.

The exceptional turnout was certainly another example of the show of respect the former players have for Coach Heinz Mueller, his staff, and the entire Phoenix College Softball program.
