Pima Pair
Takes NJCAA National Honors
The NJCAA has announced tha Pima's Amanda Duran and Dana
Alcocer have been selected the National Player and Pitcher
of the Week, respectively. Both led Pima to a perfect 4-0
record on the week with ACCAC sweeps of Scottsdale (5-0, 10-0)
and Mesa (3-2, 11-0).

Duran, a graduate of Salpointe Catholic High School,
went 9-for-14 (.643) at teh plate with three doubles,
three home runs, six RBI and one walk. The 5-5 catcher
had a game-winning two-run home run in the seventh inning,
leading Pima to the 3-2 victory in game one of the Mesa
doubleheader.

| Alcocer, a graduate of Canyon Del Oro High
School in Tuscon, pitched two shutout victories on the
week. She defeated Scottsdale 10-0 and Mesa 11-0. On the
week, Alcocer had five strikeouts and two walks while
giving up just six hits in 10 innings. |
