NJCAA
Honors 13 WSFL Players as 2008 All-Americans
The
WSFL had a total of 13 players selected to the NJCAA All-American
Teams. Selected to the First Team were Peter
Tuitupou (Snow, TE, So.), James Aiono (Snow,
DL, So.), Isi Filimoeatu (Snow, LB, So.), and Winston
Venable (Glendale, DB, So.). Selected Second Team All-Americans
were Jernorius McGill (Eastern Arizona, OL, Fr.),
Regan Buck (Snow, RS, So.), and Marcus Benjamin
(Arizona WesternDB, So.). Tabbed Honorable Mention were
Robert Benjamin (Phoenix, QB, So.), Tony Reid
(Eastern ArizonaRB, So.), Joel Walton (Arizona Western,
DL, So.), Bubba Tuinei (Eastern Arizona, DL, So.),
Joe Phillips (SnowPK, So.), and Josh Wilbur
(Phoenix, P, So.).
Butler
Scores 37-30 Double OT Win Over Snow
Snow
College, ranked #1, scored 14 points in the fourth quarter
to force overtime. After trading scores in the first extra
period, Butler won its second straight National Championship
by holding Snow out of the endzone in the second OT period.

Harper
Scores 33 in 4th to Defeat Phoenix
The
Bears seemed perched to secure the 2008 Valley of the Sun
Bowl before Harper (IL) College scored 33 unanswered points
in the fourth quarter for a shocking 39-38 comeback win.

Mesa's
Ronald Young had three TDs to earn the WSFL Offensive Player
of the Week honors. Zach Holmes posted 11 tackles to garner
Defensive Player of the Week honors
and Phoenix College's Treg Jeffrey hit four field goals,
including a 52 yarder, to win WSFL Special Teams Player

Clinches WSFL Title, PC to Host Valley of the Sun Bowl
With
a 19-12 victory over Phoenix College, Snow clinched the
2008 WSFL Championship. Phoenix will host the 2008 Valley
of the Sun Bowl.

Van Orden, Schrader Earn WSFL Awards
Arizona
Western's Terry Cotton won WSFL Offensive Player of the
Week honors, while Joey Schrader and Chris
Van Orden helped
Snow remain undefeated and earned WSFL Defensive and Special
Teams Player of the Week, respectively. | more

Earns NJCAA Award Mesa's
Jimmy Bevel earned the NJCAA Offensive Player of te Week
honor after tossing five TD passes and 270 yards. He added
a sixth touchdown by running for a score.

Sweeps WSFL's Weekly Awards Jimmy
Bevel threw five TD passes, Stanley Gaskin had five tackles
and three interceptions, and Terrance Anthony had 101 yards
of kickoff returns to earn WSFL awards after Mesa defeated

undefeated to earn WSFL Defensive Player of the Week honors.

of the Week, respectively. Arizona Western's Joel Walton

Buck Tabbed National Special Teams Player of the Week
Regan
Buck helped #2 ranked Snow remain undefeated and was selected
the NJCAA's Special Teams Player of the Week. Buck averaged
30.7 yards on three kickoff returns and returned a punt
72 yards for a touchdown.

Rolls Behind Willson & Buck, Williams Leads Glendale
#2
ranked Snow remained undefeated behind the play of Chad
Willson and Regan Buck, the WSFL's Defensive and Special
Teams Player of the Week. Mike Willians led Glendale to
victory with 154 yards rushing to garner WSFL Offensive

Named National Special Teams Player of the Week
Snow
College's Joe Phillips had five extra points and a 43-yard
field goal to earn the NJCAA National Special Teams Player
of the Week. His kicks came in a 45-13 win over previously
undefeated Glendale.

Mecham & Phillips, Western's Walton Earn Honors
Snow
defeated previously undefeated Glendale and Quinn Mecham
and Joe Phillips were rewarded for their play with the WSFL's
Offensive and Special Teams Player of the Week honors, respectively.
