Western, South Mountain Receive
Preseason Ranking by NJCAA
Arizona Western College's men's basketball will open the
2004-2005 campaign as the 7th ranked NJCAA Division I program
in the nation. The Matadors are coming off of a season that
saw them post a 21-12 overall record. Cochise College, 16-15
a season ago, and Yavapai College, 26-9 in 2003-04, each received
votes in the NJCAA poll. Moberly (MO) Area Community College
is the preseason Division I favorite.
In Division II, South Mountain Community College (15-15)
will open the season ranked 18th. Glendale (29-7) and Scottsdale
(14-17) each received votes for the top 30, while Flint, Michigan's
Mott Community College drew the top NJCAA Division II spot.
