men's basketball players from the 2004-2005 season to continue

in National Championship Opener
Arizona Western dropped a 76-69 dcision to Midland College
in the opening round of the NJCAA Division I Men's Basketball
Championship Tournament. Arizona Western will now face Northeastern
JC in the consolation bracket on Thursday at 12:45 pm in

in Distict Title Game
Brown Mackie (KS) defeated South Mountain 82-66 to capture
the District Championship and avance to the NJCAA Division

Region I Title, Advances to NJCAA DI Tourney
Arizona Western defeated Mesa 73-53 to capture the 2005
NJCAA Region I Division 1 Championship and advance to the
NJCAA National Championships in Hutchinson, Kansas. Playoff

Advance to Championship Game
#3 seed Mesa defeated #2 seed Cochise 90-87 when Arturo
Donzella nailed a halfcourt shot as the final buzzer sounded.
Top-seed Arizona Western earned its ticket to the title
match with an 80-54 win over #4 Yavapai. The championship
will be played at Arizona Western on March 11 at 7:30 p.m.

Phoenix to Capture Region Title, Advances to District Championships
South Mountain scored
a 95-75 victory over Phoenix College to capture the 2005
NJCAA Region I Division 2 Championship. The Cougars advance
to the Region Championship game and will face either Brown
Mackie (KS) or Rose State (OK) on Saturday, March 12, at
7:30 p.m. in Salina, Kansas. Playoff

College defeated Glendale 110-79 to advance to the NJCAA
Region I Division 2 Championship game against top seed South
Mountain. Dave Lopez led the Bears attack with 28 points.

was selected the Conference Freshman of the Year while the
Coach of the Year honor goes to Arizona Western's Kelly

Willie Shaw's play has earned him the
first ACCAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week honor for
