PREREQUISITES:   A grade of ‘ C ‘ or better in MAT 090 , MAT 091 , MAT 092 ,MAT 093 or equivalent,

                                  or a  satisfactory score on the District placement exam.

 

TEXT: Elementary and Intermediate Algebra - a Combined Course, 4th edition by Larson/Hostetler.

            Student Solutions Guide (highly recommended).

            Graphing Calculator: TI-84 + (will be used in class) or TI-83+ or TI-83.

           

           

OFFICE HOURS:

 

            MWF   10:00-11:00am  TR       12:15-1:15pm                

 

ATTENDANCE:

            You are expected to attend each class and be on time.  Attendance will be checked each day.       

            You will receive 10 bonus points at the end of the semester if you do not miss more than three classes.  

            Excessive absences may result in your being withdrawn from the class. However, DO NOT assume the        

            instructor will initiate the withdrawal if you decide to drop the class by not attending, or else you may  

            receive the grade you earned up to that point as your final grade.

            Even though you are absent for any reason, you are still responsible for all material covered in class.   

             Please note that the LAST DAY WITHDRAWALS ARE ACCEPTED IS MON., NOV., 26

 

MAKE-UP:

            NO make-ups are allowed for any quizzes and tests.   However, if you must miss a scheduled

            test, then a percentage score from the FINAL EXAM will replace the first test you miss and

            a score of ZERO will be given to any tests missed thereafter.

            Quiz & test dates will be announced in class in advance.

            5 Tests +Quadratic Modeling 500 points                                                             10:00-11:50 A.M.

            Final Exam                             200 points                                                                         RM:  A-214

                                                         800 points

 

            90% - 100% = A                       65% - 79%   = C

            80% - 89%   = B                       55% - 64%   = D
