You will be expected to do all of the following actions. Check any action that you have questions about or anticipate problems completing:

  1. Enroll and pay the MCCD tuition and registration fees prior to departure
  2. Pay room deposit to Whitsunday Apartments prior to departure and pay balance upon arrival
  3. Pay TAFE Program Fee prior to departure
  4. Pay live-aboard boat charter deposit prior to departure and pay balance in Australia before boarding
  5. Attend orientation sessions at PC and purchase supplies prior to departure
  6. Update Passport prior to departure
  7. Update SCUBA Certification (SCUBA divers only) and pass a medical checkup prior to departure if necessary
  8. Pass a medical checkup prior to departure if necessary.
  9. Purchase the specified Dan Insurance policy and pay the fees directly to DAN prior to departure
  10. Arrange and pay for air travel prior to departure
  11. Pack appropriately prior to departure
  12. Endure the long journey by airplane and the consequent "jet lag"
  13. Get to Proserpine Airport to meet the TAFE bus or the Whitsunday Apartments on June 13, 2004
  14. Walk to nearby shops for groceries and personal supplies while in Australia
  15. Be in good physical condition to easily accommodate daily outdoor hiking, swimming, skin and/or scuba diving
  16. Be an active participant in class activities.
  17. Be self motivated and disciplined to follow required daily schedule of classroom instruction, group projects and field trips.
  18. Be willing, able and dependable in your interactions with other class participants.
  19. Act as a team player.
  20. Be responsible for maintaining your part in the group association.
  21. Be willing, able and dependable as a dive buddy. Diving is an interdependent activity.
  22. Be open, honest and realistic with yourself and others about your diving experience, skill levels, and comfort zone in the water.
  23. Be willing and able to respond to the advice of the group leaders and dive professionals.
  24. Be willing to accept decisions made to protect your safety and your well being.
  25. Be flexible. Understand that our itinerary can be disrupted due to any number of unforeseeable event
  26. Be self sufficient in spending any unsupervised free time in a responsible manner
  27. Be respectful of Australian culture and abide by all Australian laws
  28. Be open and enthusiastic to meeting new people of various cultural and ethnic backgrounds
  29. Get home from Proserpine Airport
  30. Attend a post-trip meeting
