SCIENCE ALLIANCE MISSION

Mission and Goals

The Science Alliance is a partnership of educational and conservation institutions formed for the purpose of improving environmental science education while serving the conservation and natural resource management community.
 

Science Alliance Vision can be divided into two main components:

  • Education – We are dedicated to providing authentic research experiences in the environmental sciences for students of all levels as a means of improving learning and retention.

  • Monitoring – We are dedicated to providing a source of timely and accurate environmental monitoring data to our community partners in the conservation and natural resource management fields.
 

Desired Outcomes for Maricopa Community Colleges

  • Create curriculum that serves both students and the community at large
  • Determine environmental monitoring needs of community partners (natural resource management agencies and conservation organizations) that could be met by student research activities done as part of courses
  • Create teaching materials based on recommendations by community partners
