Lesson 12 - Human Development

Introduction

Getting Started

"As development proceeds, specialization of cells becomes apparent. How does this occur, considering that all cells contain the same genes? Scientists do not have all the answers to this question, but they do know that specific molecules signal specific genes to become active at different times. The goal of developmental genetics is to discover which signaling molecules turn on which genes to make specialization come about."
