ACCAC Records Pair of
National Players of the Week

The ACCAC opened the 2007-08 season with a pair of NJCAA National Players of the Week. Arizona Western's Sean Imadiyi was named the NJCAA Division I Co-Player of the Week while Talib Uqdah of Chandler-Gilbert was tabbed the NJCAA Diovision II Player of the Week.

Imadiyi (Corona del Sol High School; Chandler, Ariz.) scored 46 points and shot 86 percent from the field (19-for-22) to lead the Matadors to two wins over Region 1 foes last week. On Nov. 28 he scored 23 points and grabbed eight rebounds and also had two steals in a 108-54 rout over Pima Community College. Three days later he again scored 23 points and recorded four rebounds and three blocks in a 83-66 victory over Phoenix College. A transfer from the University of New Mexico, Imadiyi is leading AWC in scoring with 17.4 points per game and is leading Region 1 with an astounding 82.8 field goal percentage (53-for-64). Uqdah (Westview High School; Chandler, Ariz.) scored 31 points and had three assists and three rebounds in an 85-78 loss to Eastern Arizona College on Nov. 28. He was 13-of-16 from the field and 4-of-6 from behind the arc. Uqdah followed up with a 39-point game in a 99-91 loss to Pima Community College on Dec. 1. Against Pima, he hit was 6-for-12 from the field and 7-for-10 from three-point range.
