Music Theory & Composition
The Music Theory and Composition program at Phoenix College offers a complete education for musicians with the desire to understand, analyze, objectively hear, and possibly compose music.
Music Theory courses cover both analytical and aural skills and range from introductory courses through four semesters of music theory spanning from 18th-century music through the 21st-century.
The theory courses offered at Phoenix College fully prepare students to continue music study at a university or four-year college.
With several successful composers on faculty at Phoenix College, abundant opportunities exist for students to learn how to compose music in various styles. Composition is taught through private lessons with a faculty member.
