Your username is the first letter of your first name followed by your last name
(ie: John Doe would be jdoe). The Domain is PC
The first time you log in using the default password, you will be required
to set a new password for your user account.
Select a new password and click "ok"
You will receive confirmation that your password has been changed
If a dialogue box appears requesting that you set a Windows password
to access your workstation, clear both fields and click ok. This will prevent
Windows from requesting a password in the future.
Once you are logged in, click on "My Computer". There will be four new drives mounted on your workstation:
- Username$ on 'Pclan'(U:)
This is your personal folder accessible only by you for personal storage of files. Every user has 100 Megabytes of storage space in their personal folder.
- Public on 'Pclan'(V:)
This is a shared folder that contains resources for the entire campus, such as forms, templates, etc.
- Inst on 'Pclan'(X:)
This is the root folder of the new server, from which you can access your departmental folders for sharing files among your department.
- Applications on 'Pclan'(Y:)
This contains shared applications that will be available to all users and managed with a metering software package called KeyServer. This will be implemented at a later stage
